I'm not sure if you have to increase voltage to memory if you increase it to the cpu as well ? All these things I would love to learn about but I just can't seem to find anything on my processor combined with my mobo. I know I don't really want to overclock my video card or my memory really at all if at all possible. The drawback is that if one drive fails, you lose the data on all drives.

select overclocking manual option select the dram frequency manually then save and exit the BIOS See what happens. I have left him with XMP disabled, he would never know the difference as it's his first ever pc, but I told him about this and am not comfortable leaving it un-optimised unlike the other PC's I have build for friends and family recently.Basically, I don't see the the settings that he shows in his video in my bios. What you should try is disable xmp fully. At worst it wont boot until you clear CMOS and start again, or maybe your system will take longer to boot the first time you set XMP as the motherboard trains itself for the new speeds.

Although I checked the speeds of my RAM in Windows and I. I am using Click Bios 4 and I simply don't have the XMP option neither the XMP button to activate this function. At the end of the day, you wont brick your system if you enable XMP. It might not be a problem at all, but I just checked that my MoBo msi z97 gaming3 supports XMP RAM profile, but I just can't see it in BIOS where it should be.

I don't understand why this is happening, because I have built a very similar rig literally 3 weeks ago, using same motherboard, same ram, same psu, but a Ryzen 5 3400g instead of 3600 + gpu, and had no problem at all. After 4 attempts, I went back into the Bios, disabled XMP profile, and it works fine again with no blue screen. After this, upon reaching the login screen it would blue screen error every time. Restarted computer so I could enter the Bios, enabled Auto XMP profile for the 3200 mhz RAM, saved and exited. I set up his computer (parts listed below), turned it on and it booted fine. Hello, so a family friend's 14 yr old son asked me to help him build his first pc for gaming. Got some 'issue' with High Voltage when i enable XMP.
